Murray Lightburn is a Canadian songwriter and musician. He is the lead vocalist and songwriter for The Dears.
He has been called "the black Morrissey" in some of the band's press coverage. Lightburn actually met Morrissey while touring together in Toronto.
According to an e-mail sent by Lightburn to fans, his baby daughter, born in 2005 by fellow band member Natalia Yanchak, is named Neptune Lightburn.
