My type is a term used in dating, or courtship. "He is not my type" may be loosely interpreted as meaning that he does not suit my taste, or he is not attractive to me.

Although the term type as used in this context seems to include all characteristics or traits one desires in a potential partner, it perhaps has been more often than not limited to physical attractiveness.

If a date is attracted to me, but not vice versa, "You are not my type" may be a polite way to say you are not attractive to me or you are ugly.
