The Myst franchise consists of a series of computer games and novels, centering around the storyline of Atrus and his family, who are descendants of the fallen D'ni civilization - a subterranean city whose people could link to other universes by writing a descriptive book about that world.

Comic books

Dark Horse comics released two comic books. They originally planned to release five books total, but conflicts with Cyan resulted in the rest of the books never being completed. Apparently, there were several storyline-related problems with the comic books, such as Sirrus and Achenar's personalities being switched. Dark Horse refused to correct them and Cyan canceled the contract.

Fan games

"[Writers of D'ni]" is a Telnet-based MOO that has faded in and out of existence since the mid-1990's. The text-based game allows both guests and members to move throughout the world of D'ni, talk amongst each other, and even create their own ages. However, a temporary closing of the MOO obliterated many of the user-created aspects, leaving many older members out in the cold.
[Aveara], An online story set in the present day, with animated illustrations at each chapter and the option to alter the course of the adventure.
[D'ni Legacy], A Myst-like online adventure in html (also available for download) taking place soon after the Fall.

[The Ages of Ilathid] - a Myst-like fangame being developed by an international team of dedicated fans.
[Sehv Tsahno] - A Myst fangame dealing with one of Atrus' early Ages sabotaged by Sirrus and Achenar, and the unpredictable results of their writing manmade objects into that Age.
[Search for the Springs of Kehlbet] - A MYST fangame being developed by the Guild of Age Crafters. Will be released as a mod for
