It is affliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education amd is operated by the Jindal conglomerate. The school provides education in all science, commerce and humanities offering a wide choice of subject combinations.

The school is renowned for its dedicated faculty and brilliant students over the last four decades. Some of the famous students from school include Mohit Saxena, Nishil Gupta, Mayank Bakshi, Mansi Verma,Yatin Nandwani who have all made their mark in IIT in the recent years.
