N82 road

Encyclopedia : N : N8 : N82 : N82 road

The N82 road is a National Secondary Route in the Republic of Ireland, and is located entirely in Dublin. The route is detailed in the Roads Act, 1993 (Declaration of National Roads) Order, 1994 as following the Mill Road through Saggart, between the N81 west of Tallaght and the N7 near Rathcoole.

However, in maps and on the ground, the Citywest Road is (also) designated the N82. It too forms a link between the N7 and N81, through the Citywest business park campus. The road runs from the Citywest Interchange on the N7, west of Clondalkin, to the N81, west of Tallaght in South Dublin.

Such circumstances are not unusual in Ireland; a number of routes in the Republic of Ireland are not signposted according to statute, and new route declarations have not been issued for all new roads/motorways that re-align National Routes. In any case, the route is perhaps one of the shortest national routes in the country.

The nearby Belgard Road also connects the N7 and N81, as does the M50, but these are further in towards Dublin city along the busy and congested N7 road.
