NGC 7742
Encyclopedia : N : NG : NGC : NGC 7742
NGC 7742 (also called the Fried Egg galaxy) is the designation for a Type 2 Seyfert galaxy and a spiral galaxy that lies approximately 75 million light-years away in the constellation Pegasus.
This galaxy shows evidence of highly ionized atoms because of the spectrum of its intensely luminous nucleus.
Due to its bright nucleus, it appears much more like a 'fried egg galaxy' than other claimants to this name.
