Scoville rating

It is reported to have a rating of 855,000 units on the Scoville scale, which would mean it is hotter than the hybrid cultivar Red Savina pepper. The Naga Jolokia's claim comes from scientists at India's Defence Research Laboratory (DRL).#redirect The claim remains unconfirmed though, due to doubt about measuring methods. For comparison, pure capsaicin rates at 15,000,000 Scoville units.

Recently, the Naga Dorset which was developed as a hybrid of the Naga Morich by a couple in Dorset, England has claimed to be the hottest in the world.
