National Ballet of China

The National Ballet of China (NBC), or the Central Ballet Troupe as known in China, headquartered in Beijing, was founded on December 31, 1959, and is the only national ballet troupe of the country. Master Peter Gushev from the former Soviet Union laid a solid foundation of classical ballet for the NBC.
NBC has produced Chinese ballets, Western ballets, modern ballets, as well as modern dances. Their repertoire, among others, include:

The Tianqiao Theater was specifically built for NBC in 1959, and it was renovated in 2001. This theater is one of a handful of such theaters in China that specialize in ballet and opera shows.
