National University is an accredited, private, non-profit institution of higher learning based in San Diego, California. National University is the second largest private institution in California, and the third largest graduate school in the United States. Roughly 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students are currently enrolled.

The University is part of the National University System which includes the National Polytechnic College of Engineering and Oceaneering, the California Medical Institute and other learning institutions.

Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), National University has thirty regional and academic learning centers in California, Nevada, and Hawaii.

The University offers fully credentialed on-ground and on-line instruction. Academic programs include a wide range of subjects with a large on-line library available to students.

The National University academic structure is comprised of five schools and one college:

The California Commission on Teaching Credentialing has identified that National University has for the past five years prepared more credentialed teachers than any single institution of higher education in California.

Locations

National University is primarily located in San Diego County, California, with 16 learning centers. National University is also located on military bases throughout Southern California, including: Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Learning Center, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Learning Center, Naval Air Station North Island Learning Center, Naval Amphibious Base Learning Center, Naval Hospital Admissions Office, Naval Station 32nd Street Learning Center, Naval Submarine Base Admissions Office, and Twentynine Palms Learning Center. Regional campuses are located throughout California, including: Camarillo, Costa Mesa, Sacramento, Redding, San Jose, Stockton, Fresno, Bakersfield, Ontario, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Sherman Oaks, Orange and Twentynine Palms, as well as Nevada and Hawaii.
