Nepenthes carunculata (Latin: caruncula, diminutive of caro = flesh; referring to appendage on seeds) is a highland Nepenthes pitcher plant species, native to Sumatra. It is very similar to N. bongso and there is much debate about whether the two should be treated as separate species. An extreme variety of this species with a large, flared peristome is known as N. craunculata var. robusta.
