The Nevada State Railroad Museum is in Carson City, Nevada and Boulder City, Nevada. The Museum is dedicated to preserving the railroad heritage of Nevada.
Carson City
The Carson City museum features 5 steam locomotives and over 55 other pieces of rolling stock. Most of this equipment is from the original Virginia and Truckee Railroad (which is now the name of a heritage railway some 20 miles away, the Virginia and Truckee Railroad).Museum activities include operation of historic railroad equipment over a one mile track, hand car races, lectures, an annual railroad history symposium, changing exhibits, and a variety of special events.
Boulder City
The Boulder City location offers a 7 mile, 45 minute round trip on historic railway equipment.See also
