The New Zealand Council of Trade Unions (NZCTU) a the national trade union center in New Zealand. It was formed in 1987 by the merger of the New Zealand Federation of Labour (NZFL) and the Combined State Unions (CSU). The NZCTU represents 300,000 workers, and is the largest trade union organization in the country.
The NZCTU is often linked to the Labour Party. While there is no formal link between the two, many unions are formally affilated to the Labour Party. Furthermore, the Secretary of the NZCTU speaks at the annual conference of the Labour Party.
