Nihira Joshi was a Saregamapa (SRGMP) Challenge 2005 participant. She was a member of Ismail Darbar's 'Yalgar Ho' Gharana. SRGMP is hosted by Shaan. The show is aired on the Indian channel Zee TV.

Nihira is 19 years old and is a B.A. student at the Mithibai College, Mumbai. Nihira's playback singing career include the songs 'Dhadak Dhadak', with Sunidhi Chauhan and Udit Narayan from the film Bunty Aur Babli, 'Sabse Alag' from the film Alag and 'Raat Kahegi Daastan' from the film 88 Antop Hill. She has also sung the title song of the Ekta Kapoor Zee TV serial 'Kasamh Se' and the Radio City theme song with playback singer Shaan. Nihira is an upcoming singing sensation in India. She is sure to rise among the most prominent singers in Bollywood. Nihira is a singer who has captured the attention of many great musical personalities by her classic voice quality.

Nihira is also a former winner on the Ghazal show, 'Aadab Arz Hai'. The show was anchored by Pankaj Udhas and Rakshanda Khan.

Future projects

Nihira's forthcoming playback singing projects include Nikhil Advani's Salaam-E-Ishq, Gopikishen and an international project titled Marigold. She has done playback for various Marathi films as well. Some of her forthcoming Marathi projects include films 'Pail Teer' and 'Londoncha Navra'. Currently, she is doing musical stage shows around the world, namely in Singapore, India and the United States.
