Nihon Bussan

Encyclopedia : N : NI : NIH : Nihon Bussan

Nihon Bussan (日本物産株式会社 nihon bussan kabushikigaisha) is a Japanese arcade game manufacturer, with headquarters located in Osaka, Japan. It is also known as Nichibutsu (ニチブツ). They use an owl sign for the company's official logo. Established in 1970, they started making then-popular shooting games in 1978, though they changed direction to making mahjong games in the 1980's and concentrated on them especially in the late 80's. The 1988 game "Tatakae! Big Fighter" ended up being their last arcade game other than adult mahjong titles. Currently Nichibutsu produces Hentai mahjong games that use DVDs for video playback. It is said that Nichibutsu's popularity was at its peak in 1980 when they announced and released Moon Cresta (shooting) and Crazy Climber (action). Largely thanks to the early success, Nichibutsu is still a widely recognized name today.
