-->Nina Cortex is a character in the Crash Bandicoot series of video games. She has mechanical arms that are used to grab on to things and punch enemies, and is the only character who appears to be a goth. She was developed for Crash Nitro Kart when it was being developed by Traveller's Tales, and then used in Crash Twinsanity as a playable character. She is also a playable character in Crash Tag Team Racing. Nina Cortex is Doctor Neo Cortex's niece.
Overview
After showing signs of a good heart, Cortex replaced Nina's hands with spring-loaded, steel-trap mechanical arms of death. He then sends her to the School for Evil Children to become a villain like him.In Crash Twinsanity, Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex go to the Academy to find her so that she can help them save the world. After Cortex finds her she must make her way through the rooftops to get out of the school. During the game she is kidnapped by Crash's evil counterpart, named Evil Crash, in another dimension, but in the end she is able to help defeat the enemy. She does not speak once throughout the game (except saying "Huh?" in the final cutscene).
In Crash Tag Team Racing, Nina Cortex finally speaks, doing so in a manner associated with goths. She seems to be easily annoyed and has a negative way of looking at life. Nina's character is similar to that of Mandy from the animated television series The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. In this game, she is seen attempting to obliterate the Bandicoots with Dr. Cortex and N. Gin. Also, in the same game, Nina is disliked to the extreme by Coco Bandicoot, who has a rivalry against her. No one knows why, as Nina certainly doesn't appear to hold anything against her female opposite.
She looks the same way when she appeared in Twinsanity, except her height has changed, making her shorter. She even had a part-time job to pay her way inside the Midway Park.
