Bronze 1952 Discus throw
Nina Dumbadze (Russian: Нина Думбадзе, January 23, 19191983) was a discus thrower who represented USSR and later Lithuania. Her greatest achievement being a bronze medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, she also won the European Championships in 1946 and 1950.

Dumbadze threw 53.25 metres in 1948 to set a world record, which she improved to 53.37m in 1951. In August 1952 the world record was improved to 53.61 m by Nina Romashkova. Dumbadze recaptured it a month later with 57.04 m, and the record stood until 1960, when Tamara Press beat it by eleven centimetres.
