Detective Nina Gafney is a fictional character on the NBC crime drama Law & Order, portrayed by Milena Govich. Gafney, the first female detective in the Law & Order series, is set to appear during the seventeenth season, which is set to begin during Fall 2006. - Govich guest-starred on the Law & Order episode "Flaw" (season 16, episode 2) in 2005, joining a list of Law & Order cast regulars who did the same before having a starring role in the series.
