Ninja Sentai Kakuranger

Encyclopedia : N : NI : NIN : Ninja Sentai Kakuranger

Ninja Sentai Kakuranger (忍者戦隊カクレンジャー Ninja Sentai Kakurenjā), translated as Ninja Squadron Kakuranger, was TOEI Company Limited's eighteenth production of the Super Sentai television series. Its footage was used in the third season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers miniseries. The name is a pun on the words kakure, which is Japanese for "hidden", and "ranger", so the closest translation of the Japanese name can be Kakuranger or Kakurenger.

Help

Three God Generals (三神将 Sanshinshō)

The sentient mecha/mentors of the Kakurangers.

They were sealed away 400 years ago by the Kakurangers' ancestors. They have now changed their forms to keep up with the times. Most have a human-form and use ninja-magic themselves. When defeated, they are revived and enlarged by lightning made of human despair and misery.

  • Nurarihyon (1): The previous leader of the Youkai years ago who was defeated by the ancestors of the Kakurangers long ago. He was destroyed by the Invincible General's flaming sword 400 years ago. He was sealed away after being defeated.
  • Daimaou (Daima'ō) (30-53): A 1200-year old youkai who took over as the new Youkai leader, once he was revived by his son. His base of operations was a giant flying skull castle with wing-like ears. He later declared the time of darkness, releasing a new monster he considered a "son" and tried to drown the world in darkness before his own defeat. He was sealed back into the cave where the Youkai are entombed in the finale.
  • Gasha Skull (2-31): Prince of the youkai, the son of Daimaou. He takes on the guise of Junior, a bleached blonde leather punk with a guitar. Gasha Skull was killed by Super Kakure Daishogun, though it was actually part of Daimaou's ultimate plan, unknown to him.
  • Dr. Yugami (12-31): A youkai scientist who created replicas of Youkai monsters from kidnapped children for Tengu. After Tengu's defeat, Yugami came under the services of Junior. He specializes in making mechanical weapons and armor for Youkai.
  • Flowery Kunoichi Team (花のくの一組 Hana no Kunoichi Gumi) (8-52): Gasha Skull's personal ninja team he created from cats. They are cruel, skilled female ninjas armed with Ninja Magic, and are capable of disguise. Also known as the Hana Rangers. Colors: Orange, Olive Green, Deep Blue, Pink, Purple.
  • * Yuri (Lily)
  • * Suiren (Water Lotus)
  • * Ayame (Sweet Flag)
  • * Sakura (Cherry Blossom)
  • * Ran (Orchid)
  • Hakamenrou (?-53): Armored mystery man who turns out to be Tsuruhime's father. He pretended to side with the Youkai in order to find Daimaou's weakness; when found out, he was turned to stone by the Daimaou. Yama-uba tried to use Hakamenrou as her trump card, but he was restored by the series' end and reunited with his daughter.
  • Dorodoros: Youkai grunts.
