, or NCA, is a cargo airline owned by Nippon Yusen.
History
Nippon Cargo Airlines started flights on September 21 of 1978, from Tokyo. Over time, their network has grown to include many cities on three continents.Initially, NCA was a joint venture of Nippon Yusen and All Nippon Airways. NCA's livery was similar to that of ANA. In July 2005, ANA sold its stake to Nippon Yusen. NCA changed its livery in the meantime to a more unique design. [link]
Fleet
The Nippon Cargo Airlines fleets consists of 10 Boeing 747-200 aircraft and 1 Boeing 747SR aircraft (as of March 2005), five of which were formerly operated as passenger airliners by All Nippon Airways.On 9 June 2005 Nippon Cargo Airline's first Boeing 747-400F was handed over at Everett, Washington, the first of four on order for the airline (ref: Air International, July 2005).
NCA will be one of the launch customers for the Boeing 747-8 freighter.It placed an order for 8 Boeing 747-800F.
In June 2006, it has confirmed an order for 2 additional Boeing 747-400F. These aircraft are due for delivery in 2008 and 2009 and will replace Boeing 747-200F. Previously, it ordered 8 Boeing 747-400F, 2 of which have been delivered.
