Nisei

Nisei (lit. second generation) is a term used in countries in North and South America to specify the son of a Issei couple, born outside Japan. An Issei is a Japanese person who emigrated from Japan in the years preceding the World War II. The term nisei Japanese American refers specifically to nisei living in the United States.
