Nitre Hall is a historic nineteenth century building located in Havertown, Pennsylvania. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built shortly after 1800, the hall was the residence of the master of the Nitre Hall Powder Mills (which has long since been torn down). With the ground floor reserved for custodians, the upper two floors are decorated in Empire and Victorian style. The top floor contains various temporary exhibits, as well as an area for the educational Colonial Living Experience. Nitre Hall is located adjacent to another historic building, Lawrence Cabin. According to the Haverford Township Historical Society, "[Nitre Hall is] open the public May through October on a scheduled basis, in December for special events, and by appointment. Admission charge is nominal." The building's main use is probably school and group field trips; tourist attraction outside of that is minimal.
