Niwa clan

The Niwa clan of the Owari province were descendants of the Kodama clan. During the time that Oda Nobunaga rose to prominence, the Niwa became prime retainers under the Oda clan. Much of the influence of the Niwa clan fell drastically however, after the death of Nobunaga. However, the Niwa clan survived to the Edo Period and formed a full line of Daimyo.
