No Way Out is a 1950 film directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz starring Sidney Poitier, Richard Widmark, and Linda Darnell. Poitier plays a young intern in the prison ward of a New York hospital whose self-confidence is undermined by the empty accusations of a bigoted patient-prisoner.
Plot
Two criminals, brothers John and Ray BiddIle, are shot while attempting to rob a gas station. Both are taken to the County Hospital prison ward for treatment, where they are attended to by Dr. Luther Brooks (Poitier). Ray Biddle, a racist, doesn't want treatment from a black doctor, and after John dies during treatment, Ray accuses Dr. Brooks of murder and threatens revenge.External link
