Criticism

Some on the left feel that O'Donnell exhibited a right-wing bias in her interview of anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan during the July 6, 2006 edition of Hardball with Chris Matthews, which was guest-hosted by O'Donnell. Posters on a number of left-wing blogs, including Daily Kos and Democratic Underground pointed specifically to O'Donnell's constant interruptions and aggressive language during the interview as evidence of their claims. Charges of bias against O'Donnell in other instances are also prevalent among these same websites. However, some counter that O'Donnell merely acts as a devil's advocate during her inteviews (in keeping with the confrontational format of the show) and is similarly harsh with interviewees of other political persuasions. Furthermore, some on the right argue that, in the case of the Sheehan interview, Sheehan's own rhetoric invited such an aggressive interviewing style.
