North Aral Sea

The North Aral Sea is the portion of the original Aral Sea that is fed by the Syr Darya river. Multiple attempts to save the North Aral Sea by building a dike have failed due to lack of funding to construct it adequetly. Currently, the government of Kazakhstan is trying to raise funding and reconstruct the Dike Kokaral.
