North Wootton is a village in Norfolk,England.
The village is close to the Norfolk coast, and approximtly 3 miles North West of King's Lynn. The village is slightly smaller than the nearby South Wootton. North Wootton is also connected to the nearby village of Castle Rising which has connections to royalty [[Citing sources citation needed]]. Former marshland, drained by the dutch[[Citing sources citation needed]] links the village to the coast.
Predominantly a farming village, the village is now experincing a period of growth owing to new developments, holiday retreats for Londoners being the most recent of these.
The old part of the village is located around the small village green consiting of a few houses, a small boys and girls schoolhouse and a former post office(now closed).
With the arrival of the railway, a station (now disused) was built in the west of the village towards the marsh. The railway connected to Hunstanton and King's Lynn. The old station waiting room is still extant, but the siginal box has been converted to Scout Hut use. The Old 'Red Cat Hotel' still stands today and is now a pub.
West Norfolk Rugby Club is also situated in the Village. There are also some very good rugby teams of different ages. There is only one school, North Wootton Primary School, Headteacher Mr J Williams.
