Norton-on-Derwent is a town and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England. It runs into Malton. The 2001 census gave the population of the parish as 6,943.

Before 1974 it was an urban district in the East Riding of Yorkshire, from 1894. [link]
