Nova Scotia Power is a power generating and delivery company in Nova Scotia. It generates electricity from 44 power plants using hydroelectric, natural gas, coal, thermal, oil, combustion turbine, tidal and wind sources.
It is now owned by Emera, a power company based in Halifax that serves parts of the Maritimes and New England.
The company notably operates the only tidal power plant in North America, located in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. It was built in 1984 and is the second largest tidal plant in the world.
