Novaspace is a German Eurodance group. Between 2002 and 2004 they covered several 80's hits, such as Time After Time and Beds Are Burning. They reached the Top 20 of Germany, Austria and other East-European Charts.

Novaspace originated in 2002 in Stuttgart, the members are Jessica Böhrs (singer) and Felix Gauder (producer)

Jessica Böhrs

Jessica Böhrs was born on March 5, 1980 in Magdeburg. Jessica started her filming career in 1993 when she was just 13 years young. She played in many German TV-films including Die Wegenfelds and the famous German soap Marienhof in which she played the role of Melanie Neuhaus. In 2004 she went to Hollywood to play in the DreamWorks production Eurotrip.

Early music career

Jessica Böhrs started singing in 1996 in the band JessVaness. She was a background-singer in some songs of Caught in the Act and Tic Tac Toe. Among other things she sang the chorus of the song "Laura".

Supernova

In 2002, Jessica met with Stuttgart's dance producer Felix Gauder and they formed Novaspace. Their first hit-single, Time After Time (a cover version of Cindy Lauper's 1984 hit), went to #6 in the German charts and the video clip of this song played on MTV as well. After the success of this single, Novaspace became popular in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and East-European countries such as Hungary and Czech Republic. They made many interviews and appeared on many TV-shows. In the autumn of 2002 they made their second hit single - a cover version for Mike Oldfield's 1984 #1 hit To France which was originally sang by Maggie Reilly who is also famous for the hit song Moonlight Shadow. Novaspace's version of To France became a European hit (Top 20 in Germany). Around Christmas of 2004 their third hit single Guardian Angel hit the stores, a cover version for Masquerade's 1983 #1 hit. The song became a German Top 10 hit. In January 2003, Novaspace established their first album called Supernova. The album, like the group, specialized in cover versions of hits of the 80's. In 2003 they had another huge hit, a cover version of Bryan Adams's 1984 song Run to you.

Cubes

In 2004, Novaspace established a second album called Cubes. This LP also contained cover versions of famous hit singles. The greatest hits of this album were Beds are burning (A cover version of Midnight Oil's 1988 hit) and Dancing with Tears in my Eyes (a cover version of an Ultravox hit)
