Numata clan
Encyclopedia : N : NU : NUM : Numata clan
The Numata clan of the Kozuke province were descendants of the Miura clan. During that of the Sengoku Period, the Numata clan served under the Uesugi clan of Echigo province, and many of the latter's raid into the Kanto region would be staged from Numata Castle. However, a succession issue created turmoil within the family during the year of 1569. This led to a more easier death of the clan by the hands of Sanada Masayuki, along with the fact of the latter having Numata Kageyoshi murdered.
