Nupur Lala

Nupur Lala is the winner of the 1999 Scripps National Spelling Bee. She was featured in the 2002 documentary about the Bee, Spellbound. She is currently a student at the University of Michigan.

Nupur won the bee with the word "[[wiktionary: logorrhea|logorrhea]]" against David Lewandowski, a speller from Indiana who misspelled "[[wiktionary: opsimath|opsimath]]."
