Nur für Deutsche
Encyclopedia : N : NU : NUR : Nur für Deutsche
German: "For Germans only"): during World War II, in many German-occupied countries, signs bearing this admonition were posted at entrances to parks, cafes, cinemas, theaters and other facilities reserved for Germans only.
In German-occupied Poland, racial segregation was nearly complete. In streetcars and trains, the first car was usually reserved for German administrative and military personnel, Nazi party members, and German civilians. All other nationalities regarded by them as Untermenschen were to use the remaining car(s).
In Polish partisan parlance, toxic or otherwise undrinkable moonshine was jocularly called "nur für Deutsche". Partisans were also fond of painting the words "nur für Deutsche" on graveyard fences.
