Nusch Éluard

Nusch Éluard was born Maria Benz. She arrived in France as a traveling acrobat. Like her husband Paul Éluard, Nusch was an artist and created surrealist collages.
She was the subject of several paintings and sketches by Pablo Picasso and was photographed by Man Ray. She is the subject in "Facile," a collection of Paul Éluard's poetry published as a photogravure book, illustrated with Man Ray's nude photographs of her.
