Nyack Beach State Park
Encyclopedia : N : NY : NYA : Nyack Beach State Park
Nyack Beach State Park is a 61-acre state park along the Hudson River in at the north end of North Broadway in Upper Nyack in Rockland County, New York. The park offers picnicking, hiking, bicycling and fishing, and cross-country skiing in the winter; the hiking/cross-country trail runs for two miles along the river. As the name implies, the park originally included a swimming beach which has been closed for many years due to pollution in the Hudson; now that the Hudson is becoming cleaner, there is talk of reopening the beach.
In 1994 there was a harbor seal at the park, and the following year a harbor seal spent much of August in the vicinity of the park.
