O'Kelly Isley, Jr. (December 25, 1937 – March 31, 1986) was one of the original members of the legendary family group, The Isley Brothers. Performing backup to younger brother Ronald's searing vocals, Isley would later serve as one of the group's most flamboyant members before suddenly dying of a heart attack, at the age of 49, shortly after the Isleys released their "Masterpiece" album. His brothers Ronald and Rudolph (another original member) released their 1987 album, "Smooth Sailing", in tribute to him. He was posthomously inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with his brothers in 1992.
