O-Parts Hunter

This manga has been licensed by Viz Media and will have the first volume released December 2006, under the title "O-Parts Hunter". The reason for this title change is most likely to avoid controversy (the same was done with Dragon Ball character Mr. Satan, who was renamed Hercule). It is not known at this time whether any other edits will be made to the actual material, such as editing the 666-mark or renaming the character Satan.
It is likely that O-Parts Hunter will be released under Viz Media's Action imprint, which also includes Fullmetal Alchemist, a manga that is also serialized in the Japanese magazine Monthly Shonen Gangan.
Synopsis
Ruby Crescent is an ordinary girl, who likes to go out with boys and shop. Her life is changed dramatically when her father dies and she becomes a treasure hunter as he was. Her objective is to find O-Part -- magical items hidden under the ground which grant people superhuman powers and can only be used by an O.P.T. (O-Part Tactician) or descendant of the Angel and Devil. She soon meets a mysterious boy named Jio who, due to having a dark, lonely past, seeks to conquer the world. Jio is hostile to her at first, but ends up travelling with Ruby as her bodyguard. When Ruby is attacked by an O.P.T. claiming to be Satan, Jio rushes to her rescue and a battle occurs. Initially they are on the losing side, but Jio releases his true power and is revealed to be not only an O.P.T., but the real Satan. Thus, the two continue to travel together in hopes of unlocking their pasts.Characters
Main Characters
Jio FreedThe protagonist of this story, Jio is a young boy who trusts only himself and money. His dream is world domination. His O-Part is a boomerang called Zero (O-Parts Rank: C) which is later upgraded by Kirin to Shin Zero (O-Part Rank: B). Zero's original Effect was Double (double the power), but Shin Zero's effect is Triple (triple the power). His true identity is the container of the true devil - Lucifer, also known as Satan. After meeting his alter ego Satan, a Devil's Mark appears on the palm of his left hand. The Devil's Mark can be used as O-Part and its effect is Absorb (Absorbing Spirit). Is currently taking part in the Olympia.
Ruby Crescent
A young, treasure hunting girl who is researching the mysterious, legendary O-Part. She carries an extensive knowledge of ancient languages. Her other objective is to uncover the mystery of her father's death. She carries a necklace her father gave her, which is revealed to be a S Rank O-Part with over 100 effects.
Ball
A strange kid with dreadlocks who joins up with Ruby and Jio after the events in Entotsu City, where he lived with his parents and younger sister. He also learns he is an O-Part Tactician in this storyline. His O-Part is called Cool Ball (O-Part Rank: C), and its effect is Magnet (Magnetism). Took part in the Olympia alongside with Jio and has advanced along with a mysterious woman.
Kirin
A white-haired, pickle-loving hermit who lives on the outskirts of Entotsu City, famed for his knowledge about O-Parts and his genius as a swordsman. Despite his genius, he is not an O.P.T. He is usually accompanied by his dog/sheep Jajamaru.
Jin
Jio's childhood friend that helped Jio when he was bullied by other kids. The same day, Jin's parents were killed by Jio in Satan form, which was witnessed by Jin. He carries extreme hatred towards Jio and wants to kill him. He later became an O.P.T. and met Jio while on a mission. During their fight, Satan is awakened and tells him the truth about his parents' death. Jin forgives Jio and saves his life in the fire. His O-Part is Ashura (O-Parts Rank: B), and its effect is Flame. Jin has two special attacks, fueled by his hatred of Jio: Black Flame Pillar and Black Flame Dragon. Recent evidence in the manga has shown he may still have a part to play.
Zero
A lone wolf who has been banished by other wolves because of his special power. He taught Jio all he could of fighting and survival skills. He hates both humans and wolves, but built up a friendship with Jio as he shares a similar situation - he is shunned by others of his species. His bones are C Rank O-Parts, and their Effect is Haste, but use of them causes extreme pain to Zero.
Stea Republic
Cross
Commander of the Stea Republic SS Rank O-Part ship Shin (God). Cross lived alone with his younger sister, Lily, after their parents left when they were younger. The two went to church often to pray for their parents' return. One day, Jio came to the village where Cross lived. The Satan inside Jio found Cross as a good material to be evil, so he erased the existence of the village including Lily, but kept Cross alive. Cross witnessed Satan so he knew it was Satan who killed Lily. He was taken by the Stea Republic onto Shin and soon found out he was an O.P.T. He is an extremely powerful O.P.T., and thusly became the commander of Shin. His O-Part is Justice (O-Parts Rank: C) which consists of five rings. Their effects are: Thumb - Earth, Index finger - Electric Water, Middle finger - Wind, Ring finger - Barrier, Little finger - Bomb. Later, he reveals his true identity as the No. 1 Angel - Metatoron.
Jack Crescent
Ruby's father, a former Stea Republic Army Officer. He has betrayed Stea Republic and become a treasure hunter to track down the Legendary O-Part. Died in official record but the truth is unknown.
Amidaba
Nicknamed "Seven-Colored" Amidaba, former Stea Republic Army Officer. She is a skilled O.P.T. and friend of Jack and Kirin. She meets Ruby in the dungeons of Entotsu City, and aids their escape. She also helps out in the fight against Mekisis and Wise Yuri. After the fight, she tells them to go to the Ruins of Dust Storm and meet with a man called Wick.
Zenom Organization
Wise Yuri
A Lower rank member of Zenom Organization. He infiltrated Entotsu City to monitor the excavation of the S Rank O-Part Mekisis. Being emotionally unstable, he has a tendency to kill people without hesitiation, even fellow members of Zenom Organization. His O-Parts are two rings called Brothers, they each have individual effects (that work in tandem): Remote Handling and Teleport. After Mekisis is excavated, Wise controls it to fight Jio. He is defeated by Jio.
Kujaku
The younger brother of Kirin and one of the Four Guardians of Zenom Organization. He is responsible for the dark Kabbalah project that Zenom is conducting, and is searching for the devils. He is sadistic in nature and envious about his brother's power. Actually, he is also a devil which is No. 8 Devil - Adoramareku.
Shuri
An Upper rank member of Zenom Orgainzation. His parents were killed by Stea Republic Army. Because of this, he joined Zenom Organization to overthrow the Stea Republic. His O-Part is Race, its effects are Handling and Ice.
O-Part
The activation of O-Part
O.P.T. gain control of a O-Part -> O.P.T. release their Spirit -> O-Part absorb Spirit -> O-Part activate effect
