OGLE-TR-10

Encyclopedia : O : OG : OGL : OGLE-TR-10

OGLE-TR-10 is a distant, magnitude 14.93 star in the constellation of Sagittarius. As seen from Earth, it is located in the sky near the Galactic Center. The star has been classified as either yellow or orange dwarf, similar to our Sun. Because the star is so dim and located in the crowded areas of Sagittarius, it was not catalogued before.

What makes OGLE-TR-10 important is OGLE-TR-10 b, a transiting planet found by the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) survey in 2002.
