OXO (human)

Encyclopedia : O : OX : OXO : OXO (human)

Oxo (born Dublin, Ireland circa 1977) is a notable Irish eccentric, performance artist, musician and comedian. He also writes for Ireland's Hot Press magazine and initially came to prominence following a very public dispute with Kerrang columnist Matt m.

OXO is now closely associated with the burgeoning Dublin music scene and recently joined the Republic of Loose on keyboards and backing vocals, to the surprise of many. He has apparently since parted company with group, reportedly due to his rampant womanising.

His name is a source of great mystery and there is much speculation over its origins, the general consensus being that the moniker was first adopted during his days as a fanzine writer. There are many similarities between OXO and the English performance artist Titbag Spears and the pair have collaborated on a number of projects, such as the Surrealist epics Shakespeare On Stilts and Star Wars With Sticks.
