Oakdale Theater

The Oakdale Theater is located on South Turnpike Road in Wallingford, Connecticut.

It opened in 1957 with 1,200 seats under a tent in the middle of a field. Since that time, it has been steadily expanded. In 1972 it replaced its tent with a wooden dome that accommodated 3,000 seats. The stage was located in the center, creating a theater in the round. In the mid 1990s Oakdale has transformed itself again to become a year-round 5,000-seat performing arts center.

The Oakdale Theater has hosted plays, musicals, comedians and musicians ranging from Air Supply to ZZ Top, Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys and the Smothers Brothers.
