Formed from the smouldering embers of seminal band Dreams of Elwood, Occasional Saint are an Indie rock group who pick up where the gone too soon Elwood rockers left off. Founding members Steve (lead guitar and vocals), Wade (bass) and Logan (drums) formed the band to play covers at a friends 21st birthday party. Feedback from this initial gig was favorable and the band decided to hone their craft with a view to performing regularly.

History of the Band

The band established a significant catalogue of covers with highlights including Jimi Hendrix, Foo Fighters, Sublime and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Around mid 2004 the band began discussions about developing their sound and moving towards original work. While their writing progressed well (their first single "Passing By" was one of their first compositions) attempts to fill out their sound with a dedicated lead singer proved difficult.

Over six months the band auditioned many potential singers. The few that were suitable proved to lack the fortitude needed to join an up and coming rock band such as Occasional Saint.

In a peculiar twist of fate, a random Friday night hitchhiking episode led to Steve meeting Adrian and arranging for him to audition for the vacancy in the band. Adrian was accepted into the band a day later and the newly expanded Occasiona Saint set about writing more original music.

Development of the new batch of Occasional Saint music was progressing quickly but the three day band retreat (referred to as "Band Camp") to Sandy Bay in the Upper North Island marked the completion of a majority of the songs that make up the bands playlist.
