Ofermod is also the name of the orthodox and religious black/death metal band from Sweden. Formed shortly after the dissolution of the band, Nefandus & Hellsent, Ofermod consisted of only two members, Belphagor (all string instruments & drums, lyricist, conceptualist) and Nebiros (vocals).
Belphagor is now known as Michaya, while Nebiros has taken on the name of Leviathan. The band also consists of the following polar entities: Shiva (Necromorbus): Drums Moloch : Additional Vocals Tehôm : Bass Atum : Guitar
Michaya is also the sole entity responsible for the channeling of a special porject known as Mehuma. A future full length is expected through Total Holocaust Rex.
Reception
"Mysterion..." would soon become an one of the more influential black metal recordings in recent memory and has subsequently, sparked the black flames of a return to a fanatical religious orientation within the genre itself.Discography
Ofermod delivered unto their corrupted flock the first 7" EP, titled, "Mysterion Tes Anomias", which itself consisted of only two songs, the title track and "Chained To Redemption", respectively. The record was recorded at the now legendary Necromorbus Studio and initially released through Pounding Metal Productions, limited to strictly 500 copies.The material appearing on this record would later be reissued on both CD and 12" LP formats by Norma Evangelium Diaboli (N.E.D.) in March 2005, complete with an addtional two tracks recorded in 2004 with the additional new line-up.
