Oku-sama wa Mahō Shōjo: Bewitched Agnes (奥様は魔法少女 Bewitched Agnes, My Wife is a Magical Girl: Bewitched Agnes) is a magical girl anime comedy that pays homage to the popular sitcom Bewitched which both its title and subtitle reference (in Japan Bewitched was known as Oku-sama wa Majo which means My Wife is a Witch).
This homage is quite fitting as Bewitched heavily influenced the first magical girl anime Sally, the Witch. It produced by Media Factory, J.C. Staff, Amber Film Works, and the Oku-sama wa Mahō Shōjo Production Committee, it was broadcast on several televison channels in Japan in 2005: Chiba TV, Kids Station, Sun TV, TV Aichi, TV Kanagawa, and TV Saitama.
Plot
Ureshiko Asaba is a 26 year old housewife, or at least she appears to be. In reality she is a magical girl called Agnes Belle who guards the town in which she lives - in fact she created it. Though she is married she has never kissed her husband Tamotsu because if a magical girl kisses a human they will lose their magical powers. One day another magical girl appears from her homeland of Realm - Sayaka Kurenai alias Cruje who has been sent to replace her, however if this happens the town will vanish and be remade how Cruje wants it. This is not Ureshiko's only problem however - she and her husband are beginning to grow distant and she is developing feelings for a young man who is lodging in her home Tatsumi Kagura.External links
