Encyclopedia : O : OK : OKU : Okubo Tadakazu
Okubo Tadakazu (1510-1582) was a retainer of the Japanese clan of Tokugawa during the Sengoku Period of the 16th century. Tadakazu was the son of Okubo Tadahiro. Throughout Tadakazu's career he served under both Matsudaira Hirotada and Tokugawa Ieyasu. During the latter's struggles against the monto of Mikawa after 1561, Tadakazu was thoroughly active. While Ieyasu was currently a hostage of the Imagawa clan, Tadakazu spent his time keeping his clan together in his absence.
