Okubo clan
Encyclopedia : O : OK : OKU : Okubo clan
The Okubo clan were descendants of the Utsunomiya family, for a time being known as the "Utsu". The Okubo clan spent many years as very loyal retainers under the Matsudaira, assisting Tokugawa Ieyasu with much success during his campaigns. However, during the year of 1614, a scandal centered around the Okubo. Due to this fact, Okubo Tadachika was dispossessed, leading to an almost fatal blow for the Okubo under that of the Tokugawa.
