Oldale Town

Oldale Town is a fictional city in the Pokémon series, located in the Hoenn region. It is the second town one visits in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. It is a minor town, which has the first Pokémart and Pokémon Center one visits. The first time one arrives here, one will be stopped from going any further. Route 103 is situated above here, and is the location of your rival. You must wait to access Route 102, to the left, as a man discovered mysterious footprints. After you defeat May/Brendan, get the Pokédex/Poké Balls, you can enter.

Oldale Town in the animé
There is more to Oldale Town in the animé. Above it are some ruins that hold a secret to ancient Pokémon. This is also the place where Ash and May first meet Team Magma, who try to steal the secret. They leave emptyhanded, but then Ash and May get to see a group of Relicanth.
