Olimpija Ljubljana

NK Olimpija was a football club from Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The club was founded in 1911 but folded in 2005 following severe financial difficulty and failure to secure a UEFA licence. Olimpija spent 20 season in total in the Yugoslav First League, 19 consecutively from 1966-1984. Their record is as follows:

One of its most famous players was Branko Oblak who played there between 1966 and 1973 and later managed the team on two occasions.

In 1970 Olimpija played in the Yugoslav Cup finals, and in 1972 in 1982 in the semifinals. It also twice qualified for the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

In the Slovenian First League, Olimpija won the championship in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995, and appearance in the UEFA Cup in 1994/95.

Olimpija's ultra group are known as the "Green Dragons".

Following the death of Olimpija, NK Bezigrad were formed. Bezigrad is the name of the stadium and district in which Olimpija played in. NK Bezigrad also play out of Bezigrad stadium and are currently playing the second division of the Ljubljana regional league which is the Slovenian fifth flight.
