(Oliver) "Ollie" Canning (born 1977) is an Irish sportsman. He plays in the corner-back position on the Galway senior hurling team.

Ollie Canning was born in Portumna, County Galway in 1977. He was educated locally an later studied mechanical engineering at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) where he played on the college hurling team in the Fitzgibbon Cup. He currently works with a mechanical engineering contractors in Limerick. Canning has had much success in the game of hurling. At inter-county level he has won 2 minor All-Irelands (1992 and 1994) and an All-Ireland Under-21 medal in 1996. Later that year he made his senior championship debut as a substitute against Wexford. He retired from the inter-county scene for almost two years after this but returned as a forward before moving in to corner-back in 2000. Canning has won National League medals in 1996, 2000 and 2004, Oireachtas and Railway Cup medals, and was an All-Star Award-winner in 2001, 2003 and 2005. Canning also has two All-Ireland senior hurling runners-up medals and an All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship medal from 2006.
