OnAir

OnAir is a Swiss company that aims to provide aircraft passengers with air-to-terrestrial communications during flight. It is a joint venture of SITA INC, Airbus and Tenzing Communications. It was incorporated on February 1 2005, following approval from the EU Commission’s Directorate General for Competition on January 27 2005. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, OnAir employs a staff of about fifty worldwide.
OnAir’s mission is to provide commercial airline passengers with a full suite of personal communications services during flights, ranging from in-seat SMS using the airline’s onboard system to mobile telephony and Internet access using passengers’ personal devices, such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants and laptops.
OnAir services are designed for short- and long-haul flights on both Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
