Ona Zee (born Ona Zimmerman on March 03, 1954 in Los Angeles, California , USA) is an American porn star and model. She is sometimes credited as Joanna Collins , Ona Simms , Ona Simms Wiegells , Ona Simms Wiegers or Ona Z.
Early Career
Ona Zee made about 300 adult movies, a few of those serving as director, writer and producer. She has become known within the industry as one of it's most stable personalities, often being described as a strong ally and friend to those in need. She strongly opposes illegal drug use and/or sale, and advocates against young stars getting caught up in that world.
Early on, she worked as a model, including work performed for the prestigious Wilhelmina modeling agency, and appeared in publications such as Cosmopolitan during her career.
Life in the Adult film industry
She also (late in her porn career) appeared on the television show The Oprah Winfrey Show along with porn actress Nina Hartley to discuss life in the porn business. Well known as being outspoken and opinionated, both she and Hartley defended the industry, despite a very hostile mostly female audience. Both stood firm on their views, advocating free choice and freedom of speech.
During the height of her porn career she held a minor cult status due to her non-standard look (the "porn look" is commonly described as bleached blonde, massive surgically-enhanced breasts, and no older than twenty-five) and enthusiasm during her performances. She maintains her physical appearance, remaining physically fit, despite her age difference to her partners.
Ona's on-screen performances typically centered among standard porn fare with vaginal & anal intercourse, oral sex, multiple penetrations, and lesbian encounters. She once described herself as very bisexual, though from her standard work it would be hard to deduce that fact. Late in her career, she expressed a fetish of performing with shemales (transexuals), which she later did in at least one film.
She also created a line of videos that catered to bondage, discipline and the fetish crowd, working in films centering around her dominating both men and women. Her work typically included working with men much younger than herself. She has appeared often with men under the age of 30, including performing oral sex with men that typically performed in gay/homosexual movies. Often her partners, both male and female, are more than 20 years younger than herself. She performed in many scenes with bisexual men, with the two men engaging in sex with one another and her. During these scenes she went to great lengths to place condoms on the men, making an artistic statement of the process of practicing safe sex.
In 1990 she founded Ona Zee Productions with Frank Zee .
Ona Zee was married two times, both ending in divorce. She has also been involved in long term lesbian affairs with women outside and inside the porn industry, most notably with porn actress and outed lesbian Tracey Adams.
