One-day International cricket hat-tricks

Encyclopedia : O : ON : ONE : One-day International cricket hat-tricks

This is a list of all hat-tricks in One-day International cricket; that is, the occasions when a bowler has taken three wickets in consecutive deliveries in an One-day International (ODI) cricket match, dismissing three different batsmen with three consective balls bowled. A hat-trick is a relatively rare event: only 20 hat-tricks have been taken in over 2,300 ODIs in the 25 years since the first ODI, between Australia and England on 5 January 1971.

The first ODI hat-trick (#1 in the list below) was taken by Jalal-ud-Din of Pakistan, playing against Australia in the 158th ODI in September 1982; the most recent (#20) was taken by Charl Langeveldt of South Africa, playing against West Indies in 2243rd ODI in May 2005.
